•        Introduce participants about the normal microbiota of the various organ systems in the body and their opportunistic potential.

•        Introduce the clinical and laboratory diagnoses of infectious diseases at various body sites.

•        Introduce the participants to the usual inhabitants of different body systems, and the significance of the opportunistic infectious agents and microbial pathogens they are most likely to encounter in the lab from different specimens.

•        Provide the participants with the ability to correlate the Microbiological observations of the clinical specimens in the microbiology lab with possible etiologic agents.
